It ‘Twas The Weekend Before Christmas…

I cannot BUHLIEVE Christmas is in like…three days!?!?

I JUST bought my parents’ gift over the weekend. Ok my brother picked it out, we are doing a combo gift with his wife and my husband so I got that one out of the way!

Our family actually extend the holiday season well into January 7th and even January 14th. We celebrate Orthodox Christmas and New Year’s so I don’t feel super pressured to have our tree up (I KNOW please don’t hate!). I think we are going to do it this Monday. ย I can’t believe I am admitting this,it’s so embarrassing! Our tree is in storage downstairs and I am waiting for my super busy husband to get it out of there with his dad. There is no way I can do it. I have no upper arm strength whatsoever. I’ll be doing the decorating ๐Ÿ™‚

But I am proud to say I DID get my kiddo over to see Santa. Now that was a trip. Check it out:

She isn’t waiting to get back at me until her 18th birthday when she sees this one day. No siree bob. She already got that down. We came home and I started feeding her dinner, and she took her cottage cheese and smeared it all over her hair. Nice.

So off to the bathtub we go. I barely got to wash her becauuuuuuse, she was climbing out of the bathtub like we were about to face a flood or something. I kept trying to put her back in there but she was climbing out as soon as I was putting her in. At least her hair was clean.

And then it was time for bed. Um yea. Recently she has stopped drinking her milk. Just went cold turkey. I have no idea why-anyone?

I usually put her to sleep with a bottle despite the advice against this but it helps a great deal, especially if I have to go to the office the next morning. I’ll try anything. Not this time, she was just crying forever until I whipped out the Iphone, which I had stopped letting her play with by the way, but I was just like so exhausted to the point where I was like heeeeeerrrre! This went on for awhile.

And guess what? She rolled over 20 minutes later and fell asleep. Just like that.

I have my Lavazza here in my Chicago souvenir cup. I wanted to just hit the hay after all of this but…

I miss blogging. And I miss you all! Now I know why I am here.

  1. I can’t believe tomorrow is already Christmas Eve! That’s cool that your family celebrates through Jan 16…I could use a few extra days or weeks by the way wrapping is dragging along. That picture is hilarious of her crying with Santa. Poor thing! My 2 YO’s sleepy time routine is all messed up now that he knows how to get out of his crib. Sometimes, they just change out of the blue and we just have to deal with it the best we can! Hopefully you don’t have any 8am meetings – that’s when it gets tough. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

The earliest meeting I ever had was 9:00am thank God. The other night she slept fine and then today again she wouldn’t go to sleep until midnight-ugh! I had a feeling she was going to flip out when she saw Santa! ๐Ÿ™ We were in and out haha. Have a Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!

  2. Lol!! That photo! By the way, Ana’s pictures with Santa look exactly like this one. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Enjoy the Holidays!!
