A Surprise Coffee Date And Then Some.

How was everyone’s week/weekend? Mine was great! We are still in winter mode here in Chicago so trying to bear with it as much as we can, we are expecting teen digits again next week (ugh). We are kind of on our last nerve with this winter, I hope February is going to be it!

First off, I  wrote my most recent review on The Local Tourist about La Creperie, our destination for this year’s Valentine’s Day. Check it out here: La Creperie Still Has Its Charm.

My daughter’s sleep pattern at night is getting SO much better. The latest she goes to bed now is 10pm. Meh. On many nights she is asleep by 8:45pm, so I can’t complain, WAY better than 11/12pm.

And this past weekend, the hubs and I had a surprise date night by shopping on Michigan Ave. for a new watch (for me hehe) and then some coffee afterwards while we strolled around the sparkling city at night. It was still cold but no snow or rain and pretty serene with people bustling everywhere.

We also ran into a huge sale going on at United Colors of Benneton, one of my favorite stores and found some items for 70% off! I managed to snag this dress pictured below for $40 bucks retail $129!!

How was your weekend? I would love to hear it!

  1. What a steal on that gorgeous dress! I used to commute to work 2.5 hours round-trip everyday and when it cut down to 15 minutes – OMG I could totally feel the difference in my stress levels. In fact, I still drive to work every day thinking how lucky I am to live so close. I mostly spent my weekend resting because I was super sick on Friday. Spent time with the kids and cooked a lot. I even managed to bake a batch of brownies. YUM!
