Gap’s Reserve In Store service.

I’m pretty darn lucky that I work steps away from Michigan Ave and State St., a shopping mecca. However, even though I do, soon as it hits 5pm, I am running out the door so I can catch the bus and get home in a timely manner. The hubs and I are literally playing tag team at this point-he works the overnight shift so I need to get home as soon as possible  and take over kiddo duties.

So with that being said, my only true chance to do any shopping is during my lunch hour at work. Enter Gap’s Reserve In Store service.

I was searching for a dress for my toddler and the Gap always seems to help me out when looking for a specific outfit. I usually browse online first to see what is out there and then head to the store. Especially when a great sale is coming up.

But why not just shop online you ask? I don’t do much online shopping because I want to see and feel the actual outfit in person. I want to make sure it is the right fit and style. I am not one for risking it in hopes an outfit will fit that I ordered through a website. I have pretty much every designer, and brand at my fingertips here in Chicago.

With Gap’s Reserve In Store, you get to have the best of both worlds.

Here’s how it works: Find a piece you like on Gap’s website and type in your zip code to see if the item is within miles of your home.

You will see then an option that says “Reserve in store” and enter your name and email address-a notice will be sent to you via email when the item is put on hold and ready for pick up. No need to pay at that time you reserve the item.

Easy as that! Just head to the register when you walk in and give them your name, and pay right there. SO convenient!

For a full-time career mom, this is a blessing when you are in a time crunch between work and home. Give it a try! I wish more big box clothing stores would do this don’t you think? It’s brilliant!

Just a disclaimer-I was not compensated  by Gap or anyone else for this post. All opinions are my own. I truly do love shopping at the Gap for my daughter and  just wanted to share some advice on how to simplify your life-you’re welcome!

  1. Thanks for pointing out this service. I also love Gap and have one very close to my bus stop. If traffic is kind, I’d have just enough time to run and grab something I reserved and get home in time to start dinner. Perfect!

Welcome! Yea it really helps me when I’m in a time crunch when I have to go in there and get something for me or my kiddo, especially when there is a sale that I can NOT miss, because Gap is kinda pricey so anytime they got stuff on sale for the kids, I’m in!
