This week’s round-up and randoms.

Yes, I am posting on a Friday. If you read my post this past Monday, the grandparents have the kiddos for a whole week which means more free time for me and the hubs. Hooray!

I miss her greatly though, I call her at least twice a day, once during the day and once before she goes to bed. I was told she found some random Christmas cassette tape which I am not surprised, she gets into everything. So she has been learning Christmas songs and has been belting them out as soon as she hears them.

Things seem quiet around here, almost too quiet!

So I have spent my free time deep cleaning the condo, cooking, and writing out Christmas cards. Plans for the rest of the week includes putting up the Christmas tree and meeting up with a girl friend after work for apps and drinks.

I am also going to try to pull the plug if I have time to update my blog’s design. I KNOW it needs a make over so badly but I just haven’t had the time or energy to do so. I am taking baby steps. I would read up on blogs and thought gosh, this blogging stuff is so fun, I can’t give up, even if I am posting less. I think when my blog gets a make over I will be more inspired and motivated to post more.

Some random things I came across this week that spiked my interest and/or loved!

Buzzfeed posted this mom’s hilarious documentation of co-sleeping with her baby.

The Washington Post had an interesting article about how Parents in the US are so obsessed with parenting advice yet, our children are still really miserable.

I signed up for this free service called Poncho where you plug in the city you live in, what time you get up in the morning, and what time you get out of work. You can get notifications via text or email on how the weather will be including if you are going to have a bad hair day, and tips on how to dress, etc. The sayings that accompany the temps are cute, funny, and witty. Check it out!

Chicagoans: If you have not checked out the Christkindlmarket over at Daley Plaza, go NOW. They got the coolest trinkets and toys imported from Germany. They also have some great German Food, Hot Cider, you name it. The Shnitzel? TO DIE FOR.

As I said, I met up with one of my really good friends and we decided to meet for apps and drinks over at New Line Tavern. It’s a cute little bar near the Green line off of the Financial District. The food was great and the atmosphere was cozy. We had a great time catching up over the latest!

There was a lot that I was able to get done this week and it is already Friday, the time flew! But at the same time, I feel like I haven’t seen my kiddo in ages! I miss her dearly and cannot wait to give her lots of hug and kisses. She is having a blast at the grandparents’ but it is time to come home. Soon we’ll be back to our normal again, which is her feeding Elmo Perrier water, me cleaning up her megablocks for the bazillionth time, or watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on repeat, just to name a few.

  1. Woah, I didn’t realize your kiddo was gone for a whole week! Sounds like you were very productive, too. LOL I would miss my kids so much, but my mind is going crazy just thinking about how much stuff I could actually get done!

I didn’t know how it was going to turn out, but aside from her being so picky with meals, it worked out! If you have parents nearby I would DO IT. Mine live in Indiana but if yours live closer you can drive over there if you miss them, but you will realize hey, I totally needed this! There was no way I could put up the tree if I had her tugging at me,she wants to touch everything! lol.
