Blogging Love

Hiya there! Is anyone in Chicago sick of this winter-like weather yet? I am! They also changed the forecast from 60s this week to 50’s…Chicago, I don’t trust you right now, I’ll believe that Spring is here when it is 65 degrees for at least a month straight!

Well anyways, I opened my twitter last week to see that Mo over at Mocadeaux has nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! Thanks Mo! I actually love doing these and I know people loathe them but they really are a great way to stop and ponder about your pesronal life and gain some insight. I love the ones that Mo sends me because she doesn’t put any pressure to follow the rules strictly and we can adjust them according to our schedule and liking.

Mo is probably one of my biggest fans-we met through SITS Girls and being a native Chicagoan herself,I love being able to bring a piece of home with my posts for her since she lives in San Diego now, lucky girl!

Her blog is really fun and she does it all, she is a grandma to three grandchildren, a huge Notre Dame fan, and a lover of wine. She has extensive knowledge of wine and loves bringing her different experiences related to wine to her audience.

So here are my answers to my questions below!

1.Who would you cast to play yourself in the movie about your life?

Probably Ashely Judd because I got a lot of comments saying I look like her!

2. Have any quirky or unusual hobbies or collections?

According to my husband,it’s blogging believe it or not-lol! That is the only one I can think of! To my non-blogging friends it is seen as a little odd also I guess.

3. What has been your proudest moment in blogging?

When I took the plunge and redid my blog design about a month or so ago. I feel now that I have a more professional design, people can take me more seriously.

4. What is the weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

I stay away from things that are considered “weird” so I guess in my world liver would be considered weird lol.

5.  What item that you don’t already own would you like to have (money is no ojbect)?

Hands down a Louis Vuitton-I have been bugging my husband about it-ha!

6. As a homage to Coach Daddy’s monthly feature, describe yourself in six words.

Let’s see! Creative,passionate,sensitive,loyal,reliable,and open-minded.

7.  What is your favorite holiday of the year?

I would have to say the one that is coming up-Easter! I just love how it conincides with Spring and all the light colors, the colorful eggs, the chocolates, all the pretty outfits we get to wear as we prepare to visit family, friends, and go to Church. I believe the teachings of Easter are really great too, that we need to forgive each other for our sins.

8.)  What was the most unusual job you ever had?

It would have to be when I worked at the Seafood Department at Mejer’s in college. I had to unpack the lobsters and make them poop before throwing them in the tank, so gross now that I think of it,and I smelled like fish everyday-ew!

9.) You wouldn’t be caught dead, where?

On an isolated farm/suburb where it takes 80 miles to get to a Starbucks-sorry I am a city girl at heart!

10.) And finally, what is the best piece of blogging advice you ever received?

Sounds cliche, but to be yourself. When I first started this blog I was honing in on ways to monetize it,but definitely not anymore. Whether I ever will make money is questionable but blogging brings much much more rewards other than money-you get to meet great people (like Mo!) and it is a great way to network and outreach to others to make a difference just by reading your blog. It’s a great outlet for those who have other obligations in life as well, especially us moms. I love it!

So now it’s my turn to ask questions. I love Mo’s attitude to these blog awards, we can adjust the rules accordingly! I am going to make it easier by just coming up with  5 questions,I know we are all so busy!  Here they are:

1.) Other than where you live now, where else would you ideally love to live and why?

2.) What is your favorite type of food and why?

3.) What is your favorite quote and how does it related to your views on life?

4.) So what will it be:Experiences or Things? Which do you value more?

5.) You’re favorite season and why?

So I now nominate the following bloggers for the Sisterhood Bloggers Award. They are:

Mommy A-Z

And Three To Go

Baby and Life

Thanks again Mo for nominating me and for allowing me to answer the questions!

Now, on to your answers.. You had to make the lobsters POOP?!?!?!?! I have never heard of such a thing!! Pretty sure you win, hands down, with that one!! I can totally see the Ashley Judd thing. And I’m completely with you never wanting to live in a rural or remote area – ever!! I see the HGTV shows where people buy the retirement homes on some secluded mountain top I think, “WHY?” !
Glad you enjoyed doing this!! Happy Easter!
